Random Product Tuesday: Part 5!

Hello Rebels! How are ya now? I’m good! I’ve taken some time to test out some makeup that has possibly been overlooked. Some of them should absolutely be overlooked, but most of these shouldn’t be and nor should the brands. I will do my very best to link each product so you can check these products out if you’d like. Let’s go ahead and leave our beauty standards at the door and get into it!

  • LA Colors Let’s Talk Tea Chai Latte & Berry Blend Palette $7 (I purchased at 5 Below for $5): I was super surprised by both of these palettes. The quality is actually pretty amazing and I URGE everyone of you to go out and try one of these palettes! Now, I’ll disclose to all of you, these are the 1st 2 palette’s I’ve used by this brand and I want to also let you know know there’s a few tiny extra steps you should take to really make them work at their best for you:
  1. Fallout – Yes. It’s pretty dusty so I will suggest you do your eyes 1st (ALWAYS) with these palettes, specifically. Fallout isn’t a huge deal for me but it will push me over the edge if everything else is wrong. Don’t be scared of it if you’re on a budget, it can be so easily managed!
  2. Pigment – Get yourself an eye primer if you’re going to use eye shadows that are inexpensive. Also, don’t ever let anyone put you down for what you can and can’t afford – Fuck them for that kinda judgement! I’ve listed this eye primer before but it’s the best one I’ve found (try it and let me know!), check it out HERE.
  3. Setting Spray – With the impending doom of summer just around the corner, I have started using setting spray after I’ve done all of my powdered products and then again at the very end (I found Aqua Net at the Dollar.25 Store so during the summer I use that as my ending setting spray and it works SO well). The absolute staying power of these eye shadows alone was enough to want to buy more of these palette’s. I have fallen asleep and woken up with a FULL face of makeup (mascaras a different story lol).

Bottom line, these palette’s are worth the $5 – $7 that they are and I highly suggest them!

  • Kara Beauty Party Girl $15.99 (I’m pretty sure I got this for $5 at TJ MAXX): As you can see this palette went through a little drama and I’m a bit torn. Was it worth $5? Sure. $15.99? Fuck no. Now hear me out, was the quality good? Yes and No. I’m always really good at checking makeup before I buy at TJ MAXX & I failed myself this time. The biggest reason I don’t spend more money there is because a lot of the makeup gets sampled and broken. However, I forgot this time and “Boundaries” was broken to pieces! I tried so hard to repair it. I never have issues repairing but something went wonky here and I couldn’t smooth it out to save my life! “Party Animal” also had a piece of string or something in it and I pulled it out. Not sure what was going on there? BUT, the pigment was really amazing (insanely buildable) and it did stain my eyes for less then a day after I washed my makeup off. This was a confusing palette to say the least HA! You’ll have to be the judge for yourself.
  • Makeup Obsession Pinky Promise (I did get this at TJ MAXX for about the same price) $6: I was unaware this was a Revolution product and you all know my history with that brand and it isn’t good usually. You have to be very careful with this pigment. It was definitely more then I thought and It was hard to correct it so go in lightly. You can always add more if need be. If you need a blush palette I would say to absolutely grab this if it costs anywhere between $5-$10.
  • KAB Cosmetics Vol #1 Contour Palette (BoxyCharm) $26.03: Ya’ll know I haven’t had BoxyCharm since January so this has sat during the winter months since I use cream products during that time. This is for a very light complexion because the last ones on the end are the only colors that show up as contour and bronzer on me. I don’t really contour anything but my cheeks but even then I don’t spend too much time on it as I do with my eyeshadow looks. The original price is listed at $60 and that’s in no way worth it at all! Personally, these types of contour palette’s are one in the same and for any of those prices, I don’t think it’s worth it and there’s way better out there!
  • Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel + filling fibers ($3.99) & Baby Got Brow Eyebrow Pencil Waterproof w/ spoolie ($4.99): The gel is definitely going to be a pass. I saw no fibers and it hardly held my brows inline so I won’t be repurchasing. The eyebrow was a little better but the Wet N Wild one is SO much better if you like the triangle tip brow pencils. Bottom line, these were a bit of a let down but I’m still going to keep playing with them to see if the few times I did use them, I missed something.
  • LA Colors Bold Lash (In 1st picture but it’s in the trash lol): Just don’t even. Not everything at the Dollar.25 Store is life changing. A lot of the makeup has either been complete shit or oddly works amazingly. This ain’t it so don’t even try it.

That’s it! Thanks for hanging out with me again! Don’t forget:
